telepathy/opt out permissions
cole is a spirit of compassion whose abilities allow him to read the minds of others, especially those thoughts that pertain to sadness, grief and trauma. He wants to help people through their pain, but sometimes this also means spouting out some very personal details to them out of the blue. characters reacting with anger, threats and dismissals it absolutely a-ok and it happens in canon literally all the time.
he will absolutely not read the minds of characters whose players do not want to be involved with him, not will he say anything that he is not expressly given permission to. which is why i'm making this handy dandy form, and i'd appreciate it if you'd fill it out if you were interested in playing with cole! thank you very much.
do you give permission for cole to read your character's mind?: yes? great! continue on. if not, no need to fill out the rest of this. alternatively, if cole is unable to read your character's mind due to mental barriers and such, let me know.
what sorts of traumatic canon events would be pick up on about your character?: feel free to be as specific as you like. actually, the more specific, the better! also feel free to include quotes and such, because he has the tendency to parrot those back at people sometimes.
is there anything you absolutely do NOT want brought up?: let me know.
is there anything you specifically want him to bring up?: for plotting purposes or such! if not, feel free to erase this bit.
thank you very much for reading this long ass post!!! it kind of got away from my, i'm sorry...

finally, cole's personal backstory contains trigger warnings for child abuse, possible graphic depictions of murder and depression. he is also a character from a fairly new canon that was just released last month. if you would like to opt out of interacting with him full stop, please feel free to let me know. no questions asked, no reason needed.

Bruce and Aang, spoilers and tw for violence and suicide
do you give permission for cole to read your character's mind?: Yes!
what sorts of traumatic canon events would be pick up on about your character?: Aang's mind will probably be pretty confusing, because if they're in a power's arena, Aang's connected to all his past lives and their traumas might be mixed in there too. Cole would be able to pick up on things like the Air Nomad genocide, being struck by lightning and dying, having one's fiancee's face stolen from her, being betrayed by one's best friend, being told that one is the only one who can save the world (over and over again) and so on. I can give you a more comprehensive list if you don't know much about the canon.
is there anything you absolutely do NOT want brought up?: I'm cool with anything.
is there anything you specifically want him to bring up?: Aang needs to deal with the genocide at some point.
Bruce
do you give permission for cole to read your character's mind?: Yes
what sorts of traumatic canon events would be pick up on about your character?: His father beating his mother, his father hitting him, turning into a monster and putting the woman he loved in the ICU, turning into a monster multiple times only to wake up and realize that he had killed more and more innocent people, struggling to save the lives of various impoverished people only to have them die on the table, dealing with the sufferers of various medical hazards of many of the places he'd been in (parasites, aftermath of cartel warfare, aftermath of botched female circumcisions, plague, AIDS, et cetera), so on and so forth. Top of the list, though, would be putting a bullet in his mouth and waking up afterwards realizing he'll never be able to die.
is there anything you absolutely do NOT want brought up?: We should probably avoid bringing up too much about the family life, since that's my headcanon and not necessarily canon for MCU. I'm happy to have it alluded to, though.
is there anything you specifically want him to bring up?: Anything you feel is relevant. The suicide attempt should probably be talked about at some point, since he is still wondering if he should kill himself now in the Capitol since it might be his only chance to die and stay dead.
